Vivek Subramanyam was promoted to 1st Degree Black Belt in a ceremony held in Princeton, Masachusetts at the Moncreaff home. The promotion included a tea ceremony, various presentation and speeches from Sensei Moncreaff and Vivek. A celebration followed the ceremony. Congratulations Vivek!!!

July 26-August 2, 2009 - Adventure Week!
Our annual one week long overnight camp was a huge success, with an amazing 1 out 7 of our students participating as an adventurer, counselor, or counsleor in training. The 28 of us enjoyed training on the beach, climbing a mountain, playing outdoor laser tag, awesome food, campfire and smores, demos, rank promotions, incredible training and tons of great acivities and games. It was so much fun that as requested we will have 2 Adventure Weeks in 2010!!!

We performed a demonstration in Gardner, Massachusetts. Demo team included; Tiffany and Matthew Moncreaff, Danika Teverovski, Carolyn Viggh and Jessica Faraci. The demo included synchronized forms, weapons forms, solo forms, and self-defense against knife attacks.

Chris Pullerits was promoted to 1st Degree Black Belt. Chris has been training for 8 years. He is the eleventh student to be awarded 1st degree black belt. Professor Skip Hancock traveled to Massachusetts from his home in Washtington state to attend and supervise the promotion. Head teacher Matthew Moncreaff conducted the ceremony. A banquet held in Chris's honor included demonstrations, a slideshow, food, and dancing. A great time was had by all!

Adrian Kiss: 1st Place in Fighting and 1st Place in Forms.
Amelia Mchugh: 1st Place in Forms and 2nd Place Fighting.

Longtime student and instructor Jeremy Del Nero was promoted to 1st Degree Black Belt today. Professor Skip Hancock presided at the ceremony. During the evening a banquet was held in honor of Jeremy with more than 50 distinguished guests in attendance.

Trek Ammon Moncreaff was born at 10:00 AM February 26, 2008 weighing 8 pounds, 9 ounces and being 21 inches long.

Mr. Moncreaff taught 3 self-defense classes at Mt. Wachusett Community College in Gardner today.

This past week, Blanchard Middle School (in Westford), held their geography bee, which involves the 6th, 7th, and 8th graders (approximately 700 students). The winner of the bee goes on to compete at a state level.
This year, the winner and runner-up came from the 7th graders....and both are students of Moncreaff's Kenpo Karate Studio and reflects their habits of striving for excellence:
Nick Calow - 1st place
Nathan Prentice - 2nd place
For the tie-breaker rounds, both individuals were given the same questions, and they wrote down their answers.
It took seven tie-breaker rounds before one student got an answer that the other missed!
